As if the horizon

Was kicked from her sleep;

Opened her eyes and

Bared all her teeth.

As the sun slowly rises,

I stand underneath.

Look to the skies and

Wonder at peaks

That call to define me

Through climbing techniques

Which have shown to incline he

Who seeks the retreat

Within meaning defining

Why the ground feels so steep

And find you’ll be minding

This person you meet

When the mountains subside

Into dust at your feet.

Purpose for a Grain of Sand

I ponder fathoms in my sleep,

That must be why the gloom is thick.

Yet slowly, to and fro, she seeps

Around me, loosening my grip.

Behold! She ebbs and flows me deep

Into her, making me a ship

To soothe and wonder as she sweeps

This craft she made, on loving trips.

Blessed am I to see in sleep,

As my waking eyes just yell.

Blessed am I to feel her keep,

My ship sailing within herself.
